Custom shower enclosures
What you're buying is an enclosure: fixed and moving panels, hardware and seals, cut to the opening you have. Three styles, eight standard finishes, and one crew that measures it, builds it and installs it. Free in-home measure across the south and west metro.

Every enclosure we build is cut to one bathroom's walls, out of plumb and all. That is the difference between glass that fits and glass that was ordered from a size chart.
Three ways to enclose a shower

Frameless
Heavy tempered glass held by hinges and clamps, with no perimeter metal. The most open look, with a timeless, premium look and feel.
| Glass | ½″ and ⅜″ tempered |
| Configurations | ½″ and ⅜″ swing doors · ⅜″ sliders |
| Hinge styles | Square · Beveled |
| Pulls | 8″ ladder · D pull · Miter pull |
| Finishes | Chrome, brushed nickel, polished nickel, matte black, oil rubbed bronze, brushed bronze, polished brass, satin brass |
Extended hardware selections available through the Portals Hardware and CRL finish charts. Ask us for the full range if none of the eight standard finishes is right.

Semi-Frameless
Thinner glass with metal at the header or jamb, but a door edge that stays clean. Most of the frameless look for less upfront cost.
| Glass | ¼″ and ⅜″ tempered |
| Slider | ¼″ frameless sliding panels, Sure-Trac guide system |
| Swing | ¼″ frameless patch hinge door with sidelite panels |
| Finishes | Brushed nickel, chrome, matte black, oil rubbed bronze |
| Warranty | Agalite lifetime warranty (parts) |

Barn Door Slider
A frameless enclosure with the rollers and header left deliberately exposed. Slides rather than swings, so it works where a swing door would hit a vanity, and it gives the bathroom a piece of visible hardware to build the rest of the room around.
| Type | Frameless slider, exposed rollers |
| Header styles | Tubular · Square |
| Finishes | Brushed bronze, brushed stainless steel, matte black, polished stainless steel, satin brass |
| Best for | Tight bathrooms, tub-to-shower conversions, statement hardware |

What goes in the frame
- Clear tempered: flat glass, the standard, maximum light
- Low-iron: removes the green edge on thick glass
- Rain: a textured glass that softens the view through the shower
- Gray tint: reads dark and private with the lights off, clear with them on
- Etched: privacy without losing light, done in our own shop
- Glass protection: several options, see below

Protect your investment
Minnesota water is hard. Left alone, the minerals and soap scum etch into untreated glass until no amount of scrubbing brings it back. A protective coating or treatment stops that before it starts.
Why it matters
Untreated glass is porous at a microscopic level. Hard-water minerals and soap residue settle into it and, over time, bond to it, leaving a cloudy film that cleaning can't remove. Protected glass keeps that buildup on the surface, so a quick wipe or squeegee takes it off and the glass stays clear for years.
Some protection is built into the glass when it's made, so it has to be chosen when you order. It usually can't be added to an existing enclosure later.
Which option is right?
We carry several protective coatings and treatments, from permanent factory-applied coatings with lifetime warranties to clear treatments applied during fabrication. They differ in cost, durability and warranty, so talk to a rep about the options for your shower.
For an example of how a factory coating works, see Guardian's ShowerGuard® glass.
Agalite lifetime warranty
What's covered
Semi-frameless enclosures carry the Agalite lifetime warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Replacement parts are furnished at no cost. Labor is not included. Coverage requires online registration within 30 days of purchase. We hand you the paperwork at install, and it takes about two minutes.
From call to shower
Free measure
We come out and measure the opening. Tile and surround must be finished and cured first, because the glass is cut to your walls rather than to a catalog.
Written estimate
You get a price that reflects the enclosure type, glass, and finish you picked. No surprise line items later.
Fabrication
Glass is cut, tempered, and any etching or texture applied. Typically one to two weeks.
Installation
Usually a single half day. We set the glass, seal it, clean up, and leave you the warranty registration.
Questions worth asking
What is the difference between frameless and semi-frameless?
Frameless uses thick tempered glass, typically ½″ or ⅜″, supported by hinges and clamps with no perimeter metal. Semi-frameless uses thinner glass, typically ¼″ or ⅜″, with metal at some edges such as a header or jamb, while the door itself stays free of framing. Frameless is the most open look and costs the most; semi-frameless gets you much of the same appearance for less.
How much does a custom shower enclosure cost?
It depends on enclosure type, glass thickness, size, hardware finish and any glass treatment. Semi-frameless is the more economical choice and heavy frameless glass is the premium option. The measure and the estimate are both free, so the quickest way to a number is to have us out to see the opening.
Can you replace just the glass in an existing enclosure?
Often, yes, particularly on semi-frameless units where the hardware is sound. Send a photo of the enclosure and the broken lite and we'll tell you whether it's a glass swap or a full replacement.
Do I need to finish tiling before you measure?
Yes, and it matters. Glass is cut to the actual opening, including whatever your walls are doing out of plumb. Measuring before tile is finished means the glass won't fit. Tile complete and cured, then call us.
How do I keep the glass from spotting?
Protect the glass when it's made. A protective coating or treatment keeps hard-water minerals and soap scum from bonding to the glass, so whatever does build up wipes right off. Protection costs far less when chosen up front than as a fix later, so ask about it at the estimate. A squeegee after each use does the rest.
