What this place is

River City Creative Glass is a custom glass fabricator on 145th Street in Burnsville. We are not a big company. What we have is a building with the equipment to cut, etch, back-paint, print, bond and install glass, and people who have been doing it for a long time.

That combination is why the work looks so uneven from the outside: a shower enclosure in Apple Valley on Monday, back-painted bent glass for a national glazing partner on Tuesday. It is one capability pointed at very different problems.

Three kinds of customer

We serve homeowners, commercial contractors and architects, and glass shops and manufacturers who buy fabrication wholesale. Those groups want very different things from us.

Why we do our own work

A lot of glass companies broker jobs out. We don't. Cutting, tempering coordination, painting, etching, bonding and field installation all run through our own crews. It costs more to keep that capability in one building. It also means that when a schedule moves or a detail turns out to be undrawable, there is one person to call, and that person can change something.

The newest thing

In August 2026 the American Bird Conservancy and the Bird-Safe Buildings Alliance evaluated five of our surface-1 etch patterns and found all five to satisfy ABC's criteria for bird-friendly glass. That work is now sold as Flyway™ Bird-Safe Glass. Up to a billion birds a year die hitting glass in this country. Flyway is aimed squarely at that, and it is etched in the same building as everything else we make.
